I had decided to start a new New Year's Eve tradition. I was going to grab my gear and go for a snowhike and spend the night up in the mountains somwhere, instead of the normal cooking, eating and drinking routine. For this premier, I took the train and bus down to Blatten in Wallis, where made my way up towards the summit of Sparrhorn. I didn't make it quite up to the top, but made camp on 2700 m. I used my showel to flatten out a good spot for my tent and kept myself warm, though when the sun set the temperature dropped fast and I had spent a really cold night (a 0°C sleepingbag for around -15°C is not optimal). Though I got rewarded for my suffering, I was greeted in the new year with this amazing view. It only lasted a few minutes, but it is still today one of my best memories from my adventures.
