It was another evening on my GR5 hike (France), the sun was about to set and the weather was turning really dark and it looked like a storm was about to hit me within minutes. Fortunattely there was a cabin not far away so I went there and asked if I could spend the night in shelter of the storm, but they turned me down because of Covid rules. They also added that it was forbidden to camp there, but that I could go over the pass and on the other side I would find a skiing area where I could pitch my tent. I did as they told me and just when I reached the pass, the storm hit. I managed to take a photo of the black clouds and the sunset behind them, before I had to pack away the camera and put on the rain jacket and focus on staying upright. The wind was so strong that it was difficult to see anything, plus small debree was hitting my face. I knew that there was no way my lightweight tent would keep up with this so I had to seek shelter behind ski lift station. A wet and windy hour or so later it calmed down a bit and I managed to make camp and continued my hike early next morning...
